2016 GADCC Awards Dinner

GADCC attacks the Governor’s plan to take over the School System in Georgia!
For the November 8, 2016 election, the Georgia legislature has put on the ballot a question which, if passed, would open the constitution to allow the Governor to take over failing schools bypassing the elected Superintendent of Schools. The GADCC initiated a counter question which was revised by the Teachers Association and will be placed on the May 24 Democratic primary ballot in many counties to alert the voters to what is coming up in November!
Shall the constitution of Georgia be amended to allow an appointee of the Governor to bypass the elected State School Superintendent of schools in order to take over local school operations, buildings and control of all federal, state and local funding if a school has low scores on standardized tests or for any other reason a future legislative act may allow.? Training in August 2015
On February 28, we had a very successful training in August for new Chairs and officers. It was well attended and very informative. We hope to have more of these training sessions in the future.
We want to thank all the people who attended and all the speakers. We also want to thank Georgia Democratic Party Vice Chair Nikema Williams for attending.
